On leave on Friday...

Thanks to my duty, i have managed to chalk up 1 day of leave.... so i decided to take this opportunity to clear it to celebrate my dear sis's birthday. But anyway, i planned to take 1 day leave to celebrate already, so the duty leave just came in handy. Haha.. As always, our plan was to spend it at the Zoo didn't materialised nor KTV did materialised as sis find it's too hot and will be too tired to celebrate with mao after she finish work at nite... and most importantly, no in the mood to sing... hehe...

So end up, we nuah at her house until late afternoon.... Played Wii's monopoly and surfing net, gossiping, had our tom yam soup with rice (very delicious) etc.... Got hooked to it... the smell of tom yam will make u drool lor... And most importantly, we had a good time playing our new toy... =)

As i wasn't working in town, i appreciated such fellowship/gathering.... Oops, maybe age played a part in organising such outing (as what my CGL said the last time we gathered for a CNY
gathering) Guess also missed those days, where we can arrange to meet up for lunch or dinner as we both worked very near (when i'm still with my XXX company).... Now, in order to meet up in town, i have to leave office on the dot so that my sis wont have to wait too long for me.... and even that we can only meet after 7pm!!! but having a meal at MOS burger at OC has sort of comes our weekly affair, haha... and i really enjoyed and spent the quality time together.... =P

Oops, happens that day, mao got allegyic to her workplace, she took urgent leave to rest at home.... Holala....

Well, we decided to meet earlier.... to have our monthly therapy.... FISH SPA!!! Oops, i had it 2 times tis round.... and the fishes are getting bigger and their bites definitely
have much "laughing" effect.... Hahaha.... It was so itchy that I laugh so loud that the staffs thought that they just entertain a mad woman! Can u imgaine a witnessing a woman inside the spa area laughing like a mad woman after bitten by the fishes? =P Sis's dun even dare to stick out her leg into the pool after my outburst, so end up... me and my sis went to the middle pool (medium sized fishes pool) while mao mao continue to attack by the MEGA-SIZE fishes.... In fact, personally, i prefered the middle fishes, at least their bites much better/manageable than the large fishes.... Well, after that, we continued to have our foot reflexology.... I have my shoulder massage while mao mao and sis have their foot reflexology... Ouch.. What a terrible experience!!! But after that, was much better... still having the aches though... =P

A much awaited dinner
at the Ootoya Japanese Restaurant.. We wanted to dine in this restaurant for quite sometime but always put off by the waiting time... Yummy. A must go place to have your dinner/lunch... As we were quite early, we din have to wait to long for our dinner... usually, at peak hour, we have to wait between 30mins to 45mins to wait for turn to go into the restaurant.... Early bird got the best seat, and we took quite a couple of good pic, using my sis's camera... Haha...

I ordered Mackerel while sista order steamed veg and mao order salmon fish for our dinner... Yummy, right... though it taste a bit salty for my dish but o/a still very nice!

we have to trouble the waiters to help us took group photos as we are quite particular how we looked in the photo... Anyway, thumbs u
p for their service and their quality of food! Very cozy for dining in. I will give it a rating of 5 out of 5.

Guess what i got her for her birthday pressie, a WT from BAB and a hand lotion from L'Occitane. OMG, when did i become a fan of L'Occitane? Anyway, hope my sis will start her moisturing her hands regime. haha.... for her own good... dun wanna her hands to become dry and crispy later on!!!! Personally i find this brand user/environmental friendly as it's a organic product.... and been a faithful user, i love some of their products, esp their hand and body lotion.

After which, we went down to PS, and settled in the Secret Recipe and gave my sis a small cake... haha.. i mean 1 small pc... sang her a bird-day song and sat down to chat.. after which we depart to our respective homes...

Today, went to their house in late morning to deliver the bird-day gift.. and her hubby nearly faintz... haha... Had tom yam for lunch with them... Oops, am i really hooked to that tom yam... hopefully not... As i'm rushing a tender for next mth, i'm back at home... just in time to clean up the house, wash all my clothes, charged my phone and update my blog/FB and do touchup to my tend
er doc... hehe!!!!

Happy Birthday, Sis!!

The Ugly Truth

Today had planned to stay at home and diligently finished up with my F.E. doc... but unfortuately my date yest was postponed to today... so i decided not to do do my homework, but go and catch a movie with n.l, my ex-colek... So we end up at Cineleisure, watching this movie not with average review "The Ugly Truth"...

Originally nl wanted to watch Inglourious Basterds, but i watched yesterday and i'm not a keen fan of horror movie so we compromised and watch this movie... after walking out of the cinema theatre, we gave thumb-up for this movie... not for the comedy part but also the "teaching/sharing" behind the plot. It has this educational side of the movie, givin those who are thinking of going into a serious relationship, pointers or ideas... haha... to keep a healty relationship... The movie showed the ugly side of what's ideal and the truth... what does man and woman really wants and their expections... i guess there's no perfect partners out there, just be yourselves. =)

After the movie, we decided to pamper ourselves with a good 30mins of fish spa and a 30mins foot reflexology at Kenko (Orchard Central) before enjoyed a sumpteous dinner at Botejyu before chilling out at Coffee Bean. What a day to spend and have a break.

Inglourious Basterds

Today have a facial appointment at 11am, so me and my sis decided to have a early breakfast at HBF before going our hour long facial treatment. Today's treatment was not bad except i have to endure painful moments during the extraction... hehe... other than that, it was pretty relaxing... the staffs wasnt rushing to fin our appointment as we were quite early today...

Actually suppose to meet up with a fren from my ex-company but due to last minute... it was postponed... so end up watching Inglourious Basterds with my sis and Bro-IL... Quite a gory yet entertaining movie, while some parts are pretty lame and dry... Esp after the Basterds caughtedgerman soldiers and killed them, 1 part quite gross when they have to scrape off parts of the dead soldiers's skulls. Another scene was when the Shosanna was killed by Frederick Zoller at the backroom of the cinema... A love without been reciprocated and end up killing each other... one of revenge and of duty... and further more... but i think it's style is quite similar to 'Kill Bill" but i cannot take it (after watching Final Destination 4- 3D)... Almost merlioned out my lunch while watching the movie... =/

After movie, we have a short walk in Taka and Ngee Ann city and found saw a mooncake roadshow from all the suppliers (restaurants, hotels etc) and we bumped into TWG... Tasted and it's quite nice... so they bought 2 big boxes of mooncake home for both families... nice sia...

Changi Race 2009

Today was on official duty the whole day... together with my colleagues from the entire organisation, some nominated themselves or some genna nominated... no matter what, i believed all enjoyed ourselves though it's really hard work... seriously...

This event allows me to know some of the colleagues which i would never imagine talking to them unless i have projects together with them, such as PLY, ET etc... Kind of know them better since ET's from site office.... and i dun have projects with LPY...

Standing over 5 hours non-stop (before and after the race)

I guess the most siong ones are those sent to do ushering at the grandstand where the guests are seated... and it's really scotching hot... Imagine have to stand under the sun for the whole afternoon... while the rest of us being deployed inside or outside GHRs / departure hall are being spared from the heat... I'm one of those being spared... haha... How i know is because after all the guests were seated and with the full force of the SPF/AP personnels stationed in the stategic locations, we sneaked in to have a view of the race... and it's really really very very hot!!!

But it's really tiring standing for the few hours... not a joke esp now... my body starts to ache after 1 hour... haha... we took turns to find the nearest seat and just dump ourselves while using our eye power to do the work... =P But the reward is to be able to stand at the grandstand and witness such amazing race and be absorbed into the atmosphere. It's one of those unforgetable experience!!! For the first time, i witnessed the FT vehicles sweeping the runway at a amazing speed... How wish i could be inside the vehicle.... haha...

Managed to capture the Porsche 911 GT3 driver Yuey Tan outside his racing car after the race... really closed up pic... shall upload it up into my fb and a pic which i think was quite timely taken... the point when the Porsche caught up with the Jett8 Boeing 747 and overtaken the plane almost at the end of the race... But sorry guys, the pictures are taken using my "laoya" phone camera... so dun expected cystal clear pic... hehe...
The rest of the pic were taken from my colleague's camera... so have to ask her to send over by email before i can upload into fb.

Actually, the race did creates some hype esp in my grp where the quite a good numbers of the ushers came from our side beside the AO pp and staffs all over the organisation... everyone starts to talk... esp who will win the race... most of them actually said that the Porsche will win the race... true enough, but the plane did have the advantage of blasting ahead before the small powerful car caught up in the last lap of the race... Before we heard the news who won the race, we have to dash off to our respective positions to wait for the guests to be ushered out of the area.

My God Reigns
Music and Lyrics by Matt Hooper and Jock James
Verse 1
I have a hope so sure
An anchor for my soul
My peace in the worst of times
I trust in God alone
Pre-Chorus
Let every voice declare it now
Chorus
My God reigns
His love will never fail me
My God reigns
He's ruling over all
In all my life
In every situation I know
My God is greater
My God is over all
Verse 2
By faith i have believed
And on this truth I stand
No power in life or death
Can take me from His hands
Coda
My God is greater, my God is greater
My God is greater, my God is greater
My God is greater, my God is over all
Bridge
Above all sickness, above all fear
Above every heartache here
In earth and heaven, my God reigns
Above all power, above all throne
The greatest love i've ever known
Today, forever, my God reigns

After dinner, after searching high and low for pp to go together to my Dir's grandma wake... decided to go alone after all the negative replies... by the time i reached the wake, all my colleagues who went earlier have gone back... have a good talk with boss... sometimes, it's only time like this, then we would express our concerns... why cant we do it during good times??? Come to think about it... Only times like this then we will re-focused on spending more time with our loved ones...

I have to remind myself not to spend too much time at work instead of spending quality time with my family, maybe over dinner or time doing common stuff like watching the TV. I hope that i will not squander such privileges before they are gone faster than what we expected. Then we regrets... and by the time, it usually it's too late to do anything...

While typing, i was reminded of this song which touches me quite recently.... SO decide to blog it here. Hope it will too encourage you.
