Nav Gathering @ ML's hse.

Today..... i would consider a rare opportunity to have a Nav gathering... since all of us were quite busy... busy with our work, church, family etc etc...

It's been quite some time since i last visited ML, n family since we still at worship'g @ Pungol and ya... all of us have a wonderful time catching up... Having fun playing with the little one...

Hopefully this wont be the last one...

Quote from M. Lee... is it our age is catching up that we have such gathering, that we sort of realised the need to catch up through gathering... hehe...

I guess that brings back a lot of nice memories... But am quite touched that someone (LL) took the initiative for the gathering... if not, all of us will be still waiting.... and of course, ML will willingly open up her hse for today gathering... =)

Chingay 2009 rehearsal

Just witness the 1 of the most spectacular moment/event in Singapore 2009.... Chingay 2009

Today have to miss my cell coz i have to stay behind to finish on my urgent work which have to finish by Monday... When i left my office at 9pm, i left behind my 1 of my CM and a E(AP)... she still got to finish the last part and she's almost done... and he's waiting for her so i left to join the CNY gathering at 1 of Sis's house... Btw, i called her, she said the dinner was over and people will leave pretty soon and my CGL said no need for me to rush all the way to her place which is at Hougang and it would take me at least 45mins to reach her place...

So end up, i took a bus home... Along the way, somewhere near Suntec City, some part of the road was closed and i could see the "花车" was crossing the traffic junction and there were many policemen guiding the traffic and our bus have to stop to let the "花车" to go first. This year the "花车" quite nicely decorated as compared to the previous years... so expecting to have a great Chingay this year...

Anyway, tmr's going to be a busy day coz 1 of my ex-BSL who will be dropping by my home tmr morning after her midnight shift... Hopefully she's still can make it... But i guess would be nice to catch up with her ever since she join her current work, means her working hours very erratic... Not much chance to catch her in church as she have to miss some of the sunday service due to work... After that, i will be going to visit my ex-CGL for CNY visitation... Going to have a ex-Nav gathering, of sorts!! hehe... and going to have another gathering the following weekend.

Going to Zzzzz soon... very tired..

ECP

新年蒙福。新年蒙恩。

Woke up late today... Slept for more than 12 hours... hehe... Reasons?

I guess all because of the sleepover at E and B's house the night before our dance item on the CNY eve service at our church... Can you imagine 3 gals cramped in a small room? But overall, we have a lot of fun, esp with my frens from the mainland celebrating their first CNY here...

We have "Guangzhou-style" steamboat over at their place... very different as compared here... though the ingredients used are quite similar except how we eat is slightly different... Can you imagine instead of putting rice in the ricebowls, we pour and mixed the sauces in the bowl... Not bad leh, even though i mixed sauces like teochew chilli, vinegar, light soya sauce... Bad for health though, all the sauces went into my stomach...

After the midnight CNY shopping and witnessing the bian pow at Chinatown with some of our cell group, we went down to ECP to see the Sunrise... Super bo liao... but never mind, it's my first time with this group... which left me only less than 2 hours of proper sleep before i went for my CNY vistation with my parents... When we reached ECP, it was like close to 3am, then we have a lot of difficulties in setting up the tent, for all of us, we only have very little experience... so we "chicken hand and duck feet", we spend over 15mins to set up a tent... haha... can set a new record for the slowest time in setting up the tent.

Today, my sis and my BIL will be visiting my parents later in the afternnoon... hopefully, can go and catch a movie later... if time permits... if not, probably rot at home and watch TV... hahahaa..

CNY Dance Offertory Item.

This year CNY should be special since it will be the last CNY i'm celebrating in my 20s.... and i'm enjoying it as much as possible... first time i have spent night over at Sis Emilyand family's home... oh gosh, i guess this time round, i have finally found my rythum back dancing... am quite thankful to be part of this dance...

Guess this year will be the first of many kinds... first year in my new job, first time dancing together with both the English and Chinese dancers, first time travelling to many countries... first time possible trip EA.. (hopefully i can make time off from work for such a trip)... New year, i hope that God will grant me the desire... Hopefully, can get myself off the shelf by the end of the year... hehe... will be going for more of such events organised by my company.

Actually, i'm quite thankful to be part of this team... esp our trainer, Sis Jo.... this time will be the 2nd time working with her... though times quite stressed working with her but overall, i have always been encouraged by her passion for dance, esp dancing with God... Hopefully, we will have more opportunities working together... it's has been great to dance for this CNY dance... More to come,i guess. =)

Well, i will excited for this coming year.... with renewed commitment and focus.

Blessed Chinese New Year!

Red Cliff 2

Too complicated to share how i end up watching Red Cliff 2 with my coleks... haha...

Well, story too long here to write... but those interested can hear from me personally...

It's sort of like reading the story from the story from the three kingdoms but yet the characters are alive in front of me... it's like the book come alive... haha... anyway, i have sort of able to predict the ending which doesnt seems to make the story exciting but rather very predictable... but i sort of miss the kind of story which have historic background in it.... I guess i have been too long didnt watch such movies, since i have missed all such related movies in the past... sort of miss such movies... well, i should say that it's definitely a must-watched movie for pp like me who loves historical movies... though towards the end, the scenes were a bit gross... a

As i was waiting for my coleks outside the cinema after the show, these words came to mind:- "war is an ugly affair". Like what Zhou Yu said in 1 of the scene: No one wins in a war, only lose... you may win the battle but you will certainly lose something!! Like what the characters lost even though they have won the battle:- their dear brother, for Shangxiang loses her beloved, a commander from the opposing side etc... it was that scene that touches me.

Guess what brings to war is comes from our greed... greed for power & control, greed for money, greed for lust etc. But at the end, even though you may have getting hold of your greed, will you lose something else? i guess so... maybe in your pursuit of power, climbing up the corporate ladder, you may lost like spending time in building quality friendships or even time with family, friends. Is it really worth the effort in chasing after these dreams in sacrificing what's really matters the most? Some food for thought.

In this brand new year, my resolution is not to get entrapped into what most of us are pursuing:- things like climbing up corp ladder, securing our jobs like nobody business... But to really do God's business!

First blog of year 2009

Excitement!

I guess this year will be a exciting year for me as i embark on a renew journey this season.... Yesterday had my first dance practice for our upcoming offertory item for Chinese New Year. And the word that came to me is excitement... am excited coz i have finally committed myself to let go of the past and to look forward in my renewed relationship with God too this year... Hopefully i can keep up to that!!!

Have yet to set a NY resolution... but i guess that will be grow more closer to God than ever... my first M trip with PL, visiting a dear fren and my 2nd family Camp with PLMC... Going to Phuket with my cell... if time permits... Guess that will burns almost my entire annual leave... and coming Dec will be my 10th year worshipping at PL... time flies, right... remember the time when we have our "Hope Retreat" in 2005... we were playing this ice-breaker game where we have to arrange ourselves the no of years with PL... i was in my 7th year and was among the few infront of the line... guess that time, our Hope pp will more senior than me in terms of years of worshipping in PL.
Hopefully year 2009 will be the year of reconciliation, making time with my family, esp my dear friends whom i have not catch up for quite some time...

Guess year 2009 will be year of change!!!
Will be excited yet filled with uncertainties... Coz most of us in my dept will be going to the east.. while else some of us will be going to the other side of the town.=P depending on the individual's specialty but who will know after that esp after knowing our boss!!!

But who knows by then....
Even if's going to be bad news.... but hopefully wont have that to happen!!!

Have a exciting year... esp in our my Spiritual walk with the Lord... esp this year we are heading towards to disciple-making cell church... If our own spiritual life is not vibrant, how can we go out and influence others, making disciples in the process? Food for thought and hopefully to put it into actions. =)
