Time really pass. It's coming to a year soon since the passing of dad.
Realised that time passes so fast that a lot of things which took up a lot of my time wasn't gives me any joy but only worries and hurts. But guess, i gonna find back those things which i have lost in pursuit of less important things in life, i have neglected the most important in life: ie God, family and friends.
Hence my new year resolution is as follows:-
1) Find back my first love
2) Spend more time with family
3) Have time to catch up with friends and colleagues
4) To pursuit my love for running
5) Stay healthy by eating healthy and exercise regularly
6) Go for health checks.
7) At least 1 vacation with family this year
8) Complete my degree course
9) To enter a new relationship which exclude me for quite some time.
Details:
First love
1) Spend quality time every morning instead of oversleep.
2) Time of refreshing time in evening by prayer.
3) Attend sunday worship and cell group
4) ETWG more often (at least once in a quarter)
5) Mediate and memories God's Word.
Healthy lifestyle
1) Avoid fried and oily food
2) Less fast food
3) More greenie and fishy stuffs
4) Less of meaty food
5) Exercise at least 4x weekday runs and 1 weekend run
6) Go for annual health checks and examination
Quality time with family
1) A overseas vacation with mum and sis at least once a year
2) Spend more time catching up.
Sounds simple and i hope that i will be able to achieve by focusing on the less importance things in life though they are a means of subsidence in life.

It's back to basic again.
I just realised that i haven't been updating recently...
Too many things have happened in the past 6 months or so. In the past 4 years, i see the highs and the lows in my life. Just realised that in my life, i used to think so that many superficial things which i thought was important to me until 6 months ago. Things which i valued in the past, things which i have forsaken in my bid for "glorious" pursuits in my life. All these things such as career advancement, education pursuit, $$$, etc, yet i have someway forsaken the more important part, my relationship with God, my family and friends, my BASIC. Thank God that during the process, i have finally realised that what's really the most important part of my life. The "vacuum" which i thought i can fill up with my "achivement" which i come to my realisation that this vacuum which only God can filled it up.
While was doing my studies research, i happened to browse into a testament sharing by Sammi Cheng on her 3 years of "founding God". It's normally times like this that we sense the "emptiness" which we want to find to fill it up.
I'm not sure... it's a process of learning to let go and let God control and i know that i will have to surrender this right back to God. It's not easy but i'm willing to give it a try again.

Outing today with sis
Today me & sis went out for a day of pampering ourselves and buy new stuffs for the Chinese New Year.... while my bil stayed at his own house to do some spring-cleaning... And indeed we have achieve our own target as well...
We meet around 10pm to have a heavy breakfast before heading to our appointment with Sue, our usual hairstylist consultant. This year we decided to go for outstanding colors, my sis chose greenish brown while i chose reddish purple. After these years with Sue, she sort of understands our limits and perimeters of our hair style... without any questions. While, occasionally she will complain to us but today she kept saying how pretty is her hair. Well, we got used to her "self complimentary talk".
After our quick lunch, we head down to Ochard to buy our CNY new clothes and some decorations in Bugis area... Kept walking and walking but we have fun and good time of catching up. It's quite difficult to have quality time with sis since she married 4 years ago and so i treasured such quality time with sis.... I'm sure she also have a good time catching up and gossiping esp our fav topic.. haha...
Just back and i found this song which i love it since i heard it in church few years back... Here it goes...:-
HOW CAN I KEEP FROM SINGING
Verse 1:
G D Em C
There is an endless song, echoes in my soul, I hear the music ring
G D
And though the storms may come, I am holding on
Em C
To the rock I cling
Chorus:
G D
How can I keep from singing Your praise
C G/B C D
How can I ever say enough, how amazing is Your love
G D
How can I keep from shouting Your Name
C G C D G
I know I am loved by the King, and it makes my heart want to sing
Verse 2: G D Em C
I will lift my eyes in the darkest night, for I know my Saviour lives
And I will walk with You, knowing You’ll see me through
And sing the songs You give
Bridge:
Am G/B C D
I can sing in the troubled times, sing when I win
Am G/B C D
I can sing when I lose my step and fall down again
Am G/B C D
I can sing ‘cause You pick me up, sing ‘cause You’re there
Am G/B C D
I can sing ‘cause You hear me, Lord, when I call to You in prayer
Am G/B C D
I can sing with my last breath, sing for I know
Am G/B C D
That I’ll sing with the angels and the saints around the throne

17 days to Mount Kinabalu
Time flies and i'm already more or less prepared to trek up Mount Kinabalu.... This is also my first time trekking up a mountain which is above 2000m asl. Got almost all of the stuffs required to go up safely to the mountain top... I dunno how to describe the feeling on top of Mount Kinabalu but right now i super excited.... I believe so for the rest of my colleagues & friends going there too... Guess we will have lotsa of fun and suffering from the aftermath of walking up 4000plus metres high mountain.
Just a bit tired after rushing here and there for the whole week... Shall take a break from my routine exercise as i'm still not feeling too well... Think i have caught a cold... If i get better tomorrow, i will conquer the 40sty high HDB flats tml...
Hope for the best tml...

2 mths & 17 days to KK trip
Exactly 2 months & 17 days to my first trekking trip to Kota Kinabalu from 17-20 August 2011 (Wed-Sat). Come to think of it, why am i'm pushing myself to trek this mountain when my physical health may not match up to the challenges which lies ahead of this coming trek??? Well, i guess i have fallen in love with hiking / trekking....
Once, me & few of my church-mates will have our weekly treats of trekking at our own Bukit Timah hill (standing at 163m high)... Chicken feet... I meant that was more than 3 years back... Now, i'm feeling rather physically-challenged... Last weekend, i went trekking with my KK mates (GL & his wife & dau, SP, SG & her bf as well as BT) at Bukit Timah hill... Mind you, we tried the shortest & the easiest and i'm like panting very hard just to reach the summit... Physically, i'm still lacking but have been pushing myself to train in the gym at least 3-4 times in the gym. I kept my fingers crossed that it should be sufficient for me to have the stamina as well as the determination to push myself to the summit.
And after much research on the conditions during the trek at Koto Kinabalu. I've decided to draft out the "to bring" list & it come out to be super long list. Here it goes (from the head to toe):-
1) Beanie (to protect head from the cold weather) - OPTIONAL
2) Head-torchlight
3) Scarf (to warm the neck) - not sure really matters?
4) Waterproof jacket / long-sleeve tops / long john (if i'm that kiasu)
5) Long pants warm enuff for the night trekking
6) Sufficient clothing for the 4 days (2 days for hiking)
7) Trekking socks or socks thick enuff to keep my feet warm (rem to bring extra pair)
8) Trekking shoe (Prob good to have water-resistance shoes, good to have mid-cut as my weak ankles tends to give way easily)
9) Open-toe sandals (for trek back to HQ & during the 2 days of shopping/travelling/Free & Easy)
10) Gloves which can keep rain out, keep my hands warm & yet sturdy enuff to hand the abrasion of the ropes
11)Good backpack with water-proofed to keep rain out of my dry clothes
12)Poncho (just in case, rain)
13) Brolly
EQUIPMENT / THINGS GOOD TO BRING ALONG
1) Haversack(sufficient to squeeze in 4D3N clothings & stuffs as well as my backpack for the hike)
2) Dry bag (to keep all my clothing dry when caught in a heavy downpour)
3) Trekking stick (must have)
4) Water-bottles (to keep hydrated during the hike)
5) Water purification tablets (when i'm running out of water in supply)
6) Sunblock (SPF 50)
7) Insect repellent (to keep mozies away)
8) Ankle-guard
9) Life-saving whistle
10) Lip balm (to prevent lips from cracking due to the thin air higher up in the mountain)
11)Heat spray / muscle-relaxer
MEDICINE
1) Altitude-sickness med
2) Anti-nausea pill
3) Anti-diarrhea pill
FOOD
1) Energy bars (such as mentos, raisin, chocolate)
2) 3-in-1 packet drinks
3) Engery drink (such as 100plus will helps to give that extra perk of energy when super in need of that push)
OTHERS
1) Roll of toilet papers
2) First-aid kit
3) Rubbish bags
Lastly, remember to cut all your nails short especially the toe nails to prevent the extreme pain at the end of the trek... one lesson learnt from the previous trek to Mount Ophir. I hope all of us will enjoy the trek. Most importantly, we will enjoy each other's company during the 4 days. My wish is that all of us will be able to make it to the summit and no one to be leave behind...

Kota Kinobalu
Have been coughing for quite a long while... today doc's decided to send me for a x-ray just to make sure my lung's ok... As i'm feeling ok except for the extreme tireness, i requested for a stronger dose of medicine. Today's includes a strongest cough tablet and antibiotics to last me for the next 5 days... Although the medicine makes me drowsy, but to nap in such a hot weather is a torture... SO here i am, blogging for the first time since months i last touched on my blog...
Coming this September, will be my 3rd year in my current company... Come to think of it, i'm thankful to given so many opportunity to learn... It's time to move on!!!
Just back from my trek to Mount Ophir (Gunung Ledang), was the most difficult trek that i have ever hike in my whole life...Standing at 1,276m high, but with steep cliff almost 90 degrees, my hands & thighs was practically shaking after completing the climb... But overall, it was a nice hike and nice outing with my fellow collegagues also not forgetting new friendships during the trip but the hunger in me wanting somemore... So I will be going to Kota Kinobalu in August this year with my colleagues.
Some information about Gunung Kinabalu:-
Kinabalu is the highest mountain peak in the Borneo's Crocker Range and 4th highest mountain in the Malay Archipelago. It's also a world heritage site. It stands at 4,095m high (almost 3-4 times higher than Mount Ophir) but much easy terrain to trek. With the experience gained during the Mount Ophir trek, i would know how to train and bring along for the trip.
It will be an exciting trip for me... Looking forward to the trip. Yeah!!

Advanced BD celebration
Today had a great outing today at Sentosa and Vivocity with the gals. We visited the 花展 which will be displaying all sorts of flowers according to different theme every year. As this year is Rabbit year, all the flowers are themed relating to bunnies... Took many nice pictures with the flowers and buds....
ank goodness we went quite early today coz as we were departing, we saw a huge crowd trying to squeeze into the tiny little train station to Sentosa... There were many armed security and Sentosa personnels trying to control the crowd. We overhead a Sentosa staffs using the loudspeaker encouraging the public to take a slow walk to the island instead of taking the tram... Can't you imagine that you have to wait for at least 1 hour just to board the tram to enter Sentosa.. while the new walkway is pretty good for walking and nice view... Btw, we reached back Vivocity, it was already close to 1pm... The crowd then was very heavy!!! If we have go during that time, dun think we can capture nice flowers. They should have been squashed by the crowd... Imagine we have to queue to take pictures with the huge rabbits, it will be at least 30mins or more esp if the flower section very popular.
After which, we adjoined to have our singing session at the Partyworld.... Sang out our lungs and of course the pleasant surprise with the BD song and the nice BD cake... Thank you for the arrangement... Like it very much... =)I like the BD gift from mao...
Finally we ended the day with Jack Neo's latest movie “ 笑着回家“。 Overall, we had a good time, laughing all the way from the start to the closing of the movie... I think that among all Jack Neo's movies... this movie is a great one... All the people in the movie theatre laughed heartily throughout the movie and i believed that Jack Neo showed us his sincerelity through his movie... I guess what passed has passed... Jack Neo is afterall a real talent in our Singapore movie industry... Let's not condemn him just because of his past... We should all the more support him by watching his movies... We are looking forward to more of great production by Jack.
Well done, Jack. Keep it up.... Great movie... As the movie already said, 笑着回家.

Happy Chinese New Year
Today shall be my first blog of the year... It's been ages since i last updated on my blog... Guess as today is a happy occasion and i'm back home earlier from our CNY visits, i shall write in something for a start....
Year 2011 is a special year for me... why leh? Coz i will be starting my degree course very soon and life will be very stressful... Do i have time set aside for other of my life goals such as finding my life partner, pursuing my interest, learn something brand new????? well, right now, i'm am doing.. One of the thing i hope that i can do this year is to find time for mountain-climbing, start on my braces since my doc has given the green lights to go ahead... Belts will be pretty tight tis year...
We will be having our reunion dinner with my family later on... Home-cooked food.. Actually though my mum isn't the best chef around, but still i appreciate her efforts and time to prepare for the reunion dinner... I really love the simple teochew meals cooked by my big uncle's wife... It just melts your heart... well i guess 1 word that i can described the meal... 爱心餐。Yummy!!!
Though this year, my sista & my BIL have to miss the visit due to some reasons... Somehow the CNY visitation each years gets less forthcoming but the delicious food kept us going back to visit... seeing as my relatives ages but i'm glad to see that they are saved, know the true living God and witnessed their transformed lives make me realised that only God can saves us from our helplessness state. With God, nothing is impossible. My prayer life this year will be on my parents' salvation and my sista's walk with God will deepens & my BIL will be opened to God... I believe God's more powerful than all of our problems and obstacles in our lives if we still put our focus on Him.
My relationship with my Abba Father this year will be more close and intimate. I shall stop my procrastination and start acting on it!!! Less of myself and more of Him in my life, every detail and situations. Psalms 91 makes me well assured that God is my refuge and my fortress.
Ps 91:2 "I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
I shall end here and have our reunion dinner with my family... With that, have a blessed Chinese New Year and God blessed all of us abundantly everyday of our lives.
新年蒙福,新年蒙恩。
